Commercial excellence · Dubai, UAE

Two industries.
One operating system.

I began by planning supply and building systems. Today, I bring Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Pricing, KAM and Market Insight into one room—turning fragmented signals into one credible business decision.

Speed became a discipline.

High-velocity beauty taught me to allocate scarce supply, plan resources for ERP projects and make decisions while the market kept moving.

Boehringer Ingelheim

Perspective became influence.

A more deliberate environment gave me room to build 360° diagnostics and become a trusted commercial advisor—not simply a forecast owner.

My operating belief

SIOP is not a planning meeting. It is a leadership process.

The real work is getting different functions to agree on the problem, see the trade-offs and make one business decision.

Two worlds. One operating mind.Beauty taught me speed.
Biopharma taught me consequence.
Systems × Commercial

The higher I moved, the less the job was about planning.

Early roles measured forecast accuracy, inventory, delivery and efficiency. Leadership asks a different set of questions.

Which demand should we prioritize? How much inventory is enough? Should we add capacity—or accept the risk? Are Sales, Finance and Operations using the same assumptions?

My role evolved from managing supply-chain activity to influencing business decisions. The hardest—and most valuable—skill is not having every answer. It is helping different functions agree on the problem, understand the trade-offs and make one decision. That is where SIOP becomes a leadership process.

Different tempo.
Same curiosity.

One chapter trained fast execution under ambiguity. The other created space for holistic analysis, commercial influence and better questions.

L’Oréal was fast, inventive and constantly moving. By year three, I was planning headcount and specialist resources across ERP implementations—and helping decide how constrained orders should be allocated.

It was a high-velocity education in prioritization: promotions, launches, e-commerce, retail availability and systems change all competing for attention. I learned to create structure without slowing the business down.

A calmer, more deliberate environment gave me the space to look beyond the forecast and understand the whole commercial system—from demand signal to patient, veterinarian, channel, inventory and market share.

That 360° perspective built trust. My contribution grew into a commercial advisory role: framing what the data meant, convening the right stakeholders and directing the conversation toward the decision.

These products illustrate Boehringer Ingelheim’s Human Pharma and Animal Health innovation environment; they are not presented as products owned or led by Khalid. Indications and availability vary by market.

One signal.
Ten questions.
One decision.

The review started with the signal—not the defence. Top SKUs, large errors, Lag-1 and Lag-3, shipments, market share, projections and simulations were examined with the stakeholders who could explain and act.

Behaviour before KPI

Reviews shifted from defending forecast error to diagnosing the business reality behind it.

Institutionalised cadence

A permanent review checklist embedded diagnostic thinking into the monthly S&OP rhythm.

Proof, not just claims.

Clearer typography, fewer tiny columns. Open any card for the challenge, move and outcome.

01 · Animal Health40pt

Turning forecast debate into a shared operating rhythm

Combined statistical forecasting with monthly cross-functional forums and clear ownership of assumptions.

See the story +

Challenge Distributor and affiliate markets needed a more consistent forecast baseline across very different business models.

Move Built statistical baselines, then paired them with structured commercial discussion and exception management.

Outcome Forecast accuracy improved by 40 points in distributor markets and 20 points in affiliates.

02 · Commercial Intelligence50+

Making a vast region comparable without flattening its differences

Created a common scenario language spanning countries, currencies, channels and commercial assumptions.

See the story +

Challenge Leadership needed to separate real performance from price, volume, currency and channel effects.

Move Built simulation tools connecting price-volume mix, FX, Year-to-Go growth and channel assumptions.

Outcome Commercial reviews used one comparable decision view while retaining market-level nuance.

03 · Beauty Supply99.5%

Keeping beauty available at consumer speed

Managed roughly $20M of monthly turnover and red risk across launches, promotions and e-commerce.

See the story +

Challenge Balance volatile demand across 2,500+ SKUs and nine brands without accumulating unhealthy inventory.

Move Managed inbound priority, allocations and call-offs with visibility on service, profitability and stock exposure.

Outcome Achieved 99.5% service, 99% availability and excess/obsolete inventory below 5% across four brands.

04 · Systems Transformation15+

Fixing the commercial machinery behind every order

Translated pricing and order-flow pain into SAP logic, controls and adoption.

See the story +

Challenge Pricing-rounding errors and fragmented exchange-rate data created avoidable friction.

Move Led three power users and designed enhancements across SAP SD, MM and FICO touchpoints.

Outcome Removed recurring rounding errors and enabled a cleaner end-to-end digital order flow.

05 · Leadership35+

Making analysis land with the people who must act on it

Designed dialogue-style learning for colleagues, partners and senior stakeholders across cultures.

See the story +

Challenge Insight was often technically correct but too dense to change a decision.

Move Reframed analysis around questions, trade-offs, visual evidence and role-specific action.

Outcome Trained audiences of 35+ and supported international assignments, including Turkey, North Africa and Germany.

Experience built across functions.

Two employer chapters. Four roles. A progression from systems and supply into regional commercial leadership.
